What is Little Stars
Little Stars is a Shropshire-based children’s charity providing essential support – baby bundles, school packs, emergency items – to families experiencing hardship.
How does the Baby Bank work?
Health professionals and referral agencies identify families in need; we then prepare tailored bundles of nappies, clothing, cots, toiletries and more for them to collect or receive.
Who can make a referral?
Referrals must come from professionals – midwives, social workers, health visitors, school staff or partner charities – not from individuals themselves.
How long does a referral take to process?
We aim to respond within 48 hours and deliver or arrange collection within 14 days – or sooner if it’s an emergency.
Can families receive more than one referral?
Yes. Referral partners can request additional support for families facing ongoing need, and we review each situation carefully.
Are all bundles new or gently used?
Most items are pre-loved but carefully checked; however, safety-critical items like stairgates, cot and moses basket mattresses are always brand new.
How does the Little Stars shop help?
Our shop offers gently used baby and children’s items at low cost – and profits fund our charity work, while offering families who may not need a referral but good quality children’s clothing at affordable prices.
What is Santa’s Little Stars?
A Christmas campaign providing new wrapped gifts to children aged 0–17, based on referrals, ensuring every child wakes up to something special at Christmas.
When does Santa’s Little Stars run?
Donations are collected from late October to early December, then gifts are sorted, wrapped, and distributed in early December.
What is Cool for School?
This campaign provides school uniforms, bags, stationery and shoes to help children start school with confidence and pride.
What is Tots to Teens?
This campaign supplies clothing and toiletries for children aged 2–18, ensuring older kids are not overlooked as needs change.
