Celebrating a Successful Collaboration at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings!

On Sunday September 22nd, Little Stars was thrilled to be part of a vibrant community event at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, working alongside local organisation LovelyLand.
The day was filled with family-friendly activities, a sense of community spirit, and plenty of smiles as over 120 people came together to celebrate.
Bringing the Community Together

The event was a resounding success, drawing a diverse crowd of families and local supporters.

Guests enjoyed a host of activities, including free arts and crafts, engaging storytelling sessions by Jack Evans, and the official launch of Lovelyland’s Little Lending Library.
The library, which will be available to the public whenever the Flaxmill site is open, allows visitors to borrow books and return them whenever they are ready, fostering a love of reading for all ages.

This unique collaboration brought together like-minded organisations to celebrate learning, creativity, and the importance of community.

Supporting Little Stars’ Mission

In addition to enjoying the day’s activities, attendees were incredibly generous in donating pre-loved baby items to support Little Stars. These contributions are vital for helping us provide essential items to families in need across Shropshire.

Every single donation makes a difference, and we are truly grateful to all those who contributed to this community effort.

A Special Thank You to Our Partners

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings (https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/shrewsbury-flaxmill-maltings/ ) for hosting us and to Lovelyland for launching such an inspiring initiative with their lending library. A special thanks also goes to Jack Evans, whose storytelling kept both children and adults engaged throughout the day.

Claire Bear from LovelyLand summed it up beautifully:

It was fantastic to work alongside other like-minded organisations to bring the inspiring world of books to the local community. Partnering with Little Stars and Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings made for a fabulous community event filled with craft activities, a book swap, and storytelling. We are looking forward to future collaborations!”

Looking Forward to Future Events

This collaboration was a perfect example of what can be achieved when local organisations come together for a shared cause.

The energy, enthusiasm, and support we received from the community have only strengthened our resolve to continue these partnerships. We’re already looking forward to hosting more events like this in the future!

To everyone who attended and supported us, thank you for making this day so memorable. Your generosity and community spirit help us keep growing, enabling us to reach more families in need and continue making a positive impact across Shropshire.
