Little Stars Runners Shine at Shrewsbury Half and Metric Half Marathon
On Sunday, 28th September, the sun shone brightly over Shrewsbury as our incredible team of 10 runners took on the challenge of the Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon. Their dedication and determination were truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled to share their achievements with you.
Our Amazing Team
Our runners all gave their best on race day, tackling distances that pushed them to their limits as we had a mix of Metric half and Half marathon runners.
All our runners were inspiring, completing their respective runs with determination and great spirit.
We even had two of our own team taking on the gruelling course, Chantal, our marketing and fundraising co-ordinator pushed herself to complete the Metric Half Marathon alongside Erica, John and Rosemary.
Our Founder and CEO, Leanne, took it one step further and after just 9 weeks of training alongside Laura, Myfanwy, Carl, Lisa and Toni completed the Half Marathon.
Fundraising Success
Thanks to the hard work of our runners and the generous support of their sponsors, we’ve raised an incredible £1,607. This amount will go directly towards supporting children and families across Shropshire, helping us provide essential childhood items to those in need.
Race Day Highlights
The atmosphere on race day was filled with excitement and community spirit. Hannah, Little Stars operations manager, was there cheering on our runners, offering encouragement and support. After crossing the finish line, our runners were treated to thoughtful care bags prepared by Rachel at Tesco Shrewsbury, filled with drinks and healthy snacks to aid their recovery.
A special thank you to Mike and the Decostitch team for sponsoring our runners’ tops, not only did they help us stand out on the course, but they were also comfortable for all our runners throughout the race.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful to everyone who supported them. Their efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of local families. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and hope to have even more of you join us in supporting this worthy cause.
