Little Stars Shortlisted for Co-op Local Community Fund – We Need Your Help!
We’ve been shortlisted to receive funding through the Co-op local community fund, and we need your help.
What’s the funding for?
We wish to help vulnerable families in Shropshire access support for basic hygiene essentials and school uniform, through the development of our community hubs.
How our cause brings people in the community together
Our community hubs are non-judgemental spaces for single parents, pregnant women and families across Shropshire, who are experiencing financial difficulty. They’re for individuals to easily access our services, without the need for a referral, to gain support with basic hygiene essentials and school uniform. Financial pressures can be detrimental to an individual’s mental health, and we hope to provide a way to ease this and bring communities together. Through this project we aim to reach even more individuals with the development of our hubs, making them a sustainable resource that can be relied upon. We also hope to increase our positive impact on the environment by reducing waste through our pre-loved clothing donations that are regifted to families in need.
How can you help?
We’re guaranteed to be gifted £1000 through the fund, however with your help we can potentially receive more which will go straight back to helping local families in need.
We’re linked with four Shropshire Co-op stores, Ellesmere, Gobowen, Oswestry and Cabin Lane and you can help by voting for our cause.
Ways to vote
If you’re already a coop member you can support us right away.
Voting through the co-op app – if you have the coop mobile app and are located within 15 miles of any of the above stores, our project will show up under the ‘community tab’ and you can choose to support our cause.
