Recent Grant Funding – Supporting Our Work in Shropshire
We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news, over the past few months, Little Stars has been fortunate to receive generous grants from several charitable Trusts and Foundations.
This kind of support is not only vital in helping us meet the growing demand for our services, but it’s also an important recognition of the work we do in supporting families and children in Shropshire.
These grants will make a real difference to the lives of those we support, helping us to provide essential items, respond more quickly to urgent needs, and plan more confidently for the months ahead. We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to each funder for believing in our mission.
Continued Support from the Haberdashers’ Company
We’re incredibly grateful to the Haberdashers’ Company, who have chosen to support us for the second year running. Their recent grant of £5,000 will allow us to continue delivering our Safe and Secure project and, for the first time, extend their support to include our Nighttime project as well.
Both projects are designed to ensure that babies and young children can grow up in safe and nurturing environments. This might mean supplying safety gates and cots to families in temporary accommodation or providing warm bedding and sleepwear for little ones at risk of going without.
Thanks to this funding, we’ll be able to reach more families in the Telford area and continue providing essentials that offer not just practical support, but peace of mind.
“The Haberdashers Company are united by a belief in supporting the next generation and leaving the world in a better place… They work collaboratively with local organisations who offer transformational change… providing opportunities for young people to thrive and reach their full potential.”

Welcome Break Charitable Fund – Strengthening Our Baby Bank
We’re also delighted to have received £5,000 from the Welcome Break Charitable Fund, which will go directly towards supporting our Baby Bank and Tots to Teens Essentials project.
We’re incredibly lucky to receive a huge number of donated, preloved items from the community, from baby clothes and coats to books and school uniforms. However, there are certain essentials that we must provide new due to safety and hygiene reasons. Items such as nappies, mattresses, stairgates, toiletries and bedding are often in high demand, and keeping up with this demand is always a challenge.
This funding will help us bridge that gap, ensuring that local children don’t go without the things they need to stay safe, healthy, and warm.
“The Welcome Break Charitable Fund was established in 2023 to give back to the communities in which Welcome Break operates… through fundraising, volunteering, and spreading awareness of their charity partners.”

Supporting Families County-Wide – Thanks to NFU Mutual
We’re also hugely thankful to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust for their incredibly generous grant of £7,000. This funding recognises the challenges faced by families across the county: financial pressure, emotional stress, and the ongoing struggle to provide for children in difficult times.
With their support, we’ll be able to continue delivering essentials to families in crisis across Shropshire. Whether it’s baby formula and toiletries for a newborn, or clothing, toys and school supplies for older children, this funding enables us to respond quickly and compassionately when families need us most.
“Since 1998, NFU Mutual’s Charitable Trust has made a positive difference to education, research, social welfare and poverty relief.”

A Thank You to the Lillie Johnson Charitable Trust
Last but by no means least, we’d like to thank the Lillie Johnson Charitable Trust for their thoughtful donation of £1,000. Contributions like this are vital to our day-to-day work, helping us to cover essential running costs and maintain the flexibility needed to support families when they need it most.
Together, these generous grants are helping us to reach more children, support more families, and continue our mission of providing essentials for every stage of childhood. We are deeply thankful to each of these funders for their belief in what we do and for helping us make a lasting difference in our community.
