Wear Stars 4 Little Stars Week: What a Week!
Wow, what an incredible week it’s been!
From pyjamas to painting, bake sales to biscuit judging, our Wear Stars 4 Little Stars campaign brought together schools, businesses, and communities across Shropshire to raise both funds and awareness for Little Stars and our Project Nighttime.
Thanks to your generosity, creativity, and commitment, we’re absolutely thrilled to share that we raised an amazing £3,238!
Schools that Sparkled
Our local schools really embraced the spirit of the campaign, not only fundraising, but spreading awareness of our work and showing the next generation the power of kindness.
St Winefride’s RC School in Shrewsbury held a fun-filled pyjama day for both pupils and staff, with parents generously donating funds and collecting essential items to support Project Nighttime. St Winefride’s have supported us throughout the year, and it’s been wonderful to have them involved in this campaign too. A fantastic effort from everyone involved!
Weston Lullingfields School pulled out all the stops with a brilliant bake sale, a pyjama and stars dress-up day, and – in the lead-up to the event – children created thoughtful posters all about Little Stars Day. It was inspiring to see how much they rallied behind the cause. They raised a fantastic £162.
St Mary’s School in Albrighton also stepped up with their own sparkly celebration. As one pupil shared:
“On Monday 23rd June, the whole school took part in ‘Wear pyjamas or stars’ for Little Stars Day.
In exchange for one pound, children wore a variety of colours and clothing with stars on, to raise money for charity.
St Mary’s raised a huge £129.45; this will go towards the Little Stars charity to help children and families who are less fortunate.”
We’re also incredibly grateful to Whittington Primary School in Oswestry, who joined in the fun and helped spread awareness of Little Stars with their fabulous starry efforts. They raised an amazing £145.
Corporate Stars
Our business supporters went above and beyond this year, and we had a bit of friendly competition along the way!
Start Tech ran a fantastic bake-off challenge, with each team member receiving a mystery ingredient bag to take home at the start of the week. On Friday, Leanne had the very tasty job of judging their creations! Alongside some fabulous starry outfits, the team raised a fantastic £575. A special shout-out goes to Chris Walker, who was awarded our Best Homemade Creation for his brilliant hand-crafted outfit – a true star effort!
Aico held a pyjama day and encouraged donations throughout the week, raising an incredible £706. Not only that, but they also reached out to local schools to promote the campaign even further. We are so grateful for their support.
Clicking Mad lit up the streets of Bridgnorth in their brilliant star outfits: spreading awareness of our work in the most joyful and eye-catching way. They also donated a fantastic £100 towards our project Nighttime, and their commitment and creativity earned them the title of Corporate Mini Challenge Winners!
Komplex Group also joined the campaign, with their head office team taking part in our Pyjama Day and donating via our JustGiving page. A big thank you for helping us make a difference.
Events That Brought Us Together
We kicked off the week with a Quiz and games Night at Claremont Social Tap, where teams from WSP, Start Tech, Lanyon Bowdler, TCA, and a wonderful mix of new and old supporters joined us for a fun-filled evening, raising £322.
On Thursday, we headed to the Shropshire Distillery in Ellesmere, where the talented Art Mixer hosted a Paint and Sip night, raising £55 for Little Stars with beautiful paintings and great sing-alongs.
Finally, we rounded off the campaign on Monday 30th June with a second quiz at The Cock Hotel in Wellington. Louise, the pub manager, and the evening’s host kindly matched-funded the total raised, bringing us to an amazing £385 to close out the week in style.
Every Penny Makes a Difference
All the money raised during Wear Stars 4 Little Stars will go directly towards Project Nighttime: helping us provide cots, bedding, nightwear, toiletries, stairgates and other nighttime essentials to children in Shropshire.
To every school, business, and individual who took part: thank you. You’ve not only helped us raise money – you’ve helped raise awareness, build community spirit, and ensure more children across Shropshire will be able to sleep safely and comfortably.
Save the Date for 2026!
We’re already looking ahead to next year and planning even more fun, fundraising and starry outfits!
Wear Stars 4 Little Stars 2026 will take place from 22nd to 28th June, so save the date.
