We rely on fundraising to sustain our service and are recruiting Volunteer Events Assistants to support us on an Ad-hoc basis. The role will be varied with the main responsibility of helping us engage the public in the work of Little Stars and being the first point of contact at charity events and activities.
Examples of some of the activities you could get involved in include:
- Infrastructure set up: putting up gazebos, table and displaying promotional material such as barracudas
- Audience engagement: speaking to the public about Little Stars, sharing promotional material and taking donations
- Selling raffle tickets and taking entrance/activity fees
- Overseeing and supporting with children’s activities ie. Craft sessions
- Setting up and managing pop up community hubs
We have a yearly calendar of events and volunteer requirements will vary depending on the nature of the event. There may also be other opportunities to get involved throughout the year as other activities arise. We’re gathering expressions of interest for this role and will collate a pool of volunteers who we will contact throughout the year. Appropriate briefings, training and support will be given.
